I had a mission yesterday. I had missed the weekly congregation of people who ride bikes the night before and my day suffered immensely because of it. Liar; I awoke rested and without hangover yesterday, but still with an itch that went unscratched (it was in the taint area).
I could have tagged along with Denver's weekly bike parade that night but I didn't feel like dealing with the noise, the lack of judgment, or bike riding. I decided I'd do it like I had in the past, myself, my beer, my bike. No one would yell "yeah bike gang" on this night.

So I just went out and rode to some of the good old spots (I found a new spot as well). I took a few photos, but more than half were shit. I'm just gonna say this is a post for my broad national and international audience so it has some sort of relevance (I should probably just put a turd on it right now). From looking at the creepodepot's google analytics I know for a fact one person from most of the shitty Midwestern states has tuned in at some point in the last month; a couple of folk in Texas as well (hi Sloan's mom), howdy to y'all. But mostly I am excited to say hi to Lahore Pakistan, Thanks for reading, and I hope you don't end the world for the rest of us.
But any way here is some of the stuff I saw last night in Denver Colorado USA.

Here we see the skyline from the corner of 13th and Speer. Below this spot sits the infamous "ghetto king soopers" If you're ever in need of a money to buy pampers and crack you'll probably end up here.

This is just up 13th on the government parking garage. On the left is the mint, city&county building, and state capital. On the right is the original wing of the denver art museum designed by the great Gio Ponti.

The old-ass enclosed parking structure on Glenarm and 18th turned out to be accessible and awesome. It's 5 stories, smells like a go kart track, and will probably give you the black lung if you hang out in it too long, but the roof looks like where Batman would hang if Denver were Gotham and Batman just wanted to hang. We should go hang there too.

This is the top of the convention center. That building with the blue lights looks like it's gonna fall over, but it's not.

This is the velo hell hole you ride to get down. It's a pretty tight, continuous right hander (naughty) that can make you slightly dizzily, especially if you suffer from vertigo.

Dance music is a strange bitch. The culture that enjoys it seems to be one of gross excesses. Excess fragrance, excess hair product, excess makeup, Scion accessories and wrist bands. Socially dancing has always been some what of a sexual venture. From trying to keep your awkward boner from brushing against your spring dance date, to grinding all up on some chicken headz in the club; dancing conveys love. If love were a blossoming flower, music would be the rain that quenched the parched soil and made it fertile.

I watched excess hours of dance music videos last week and found plenty more evidence of dance music's sexual nature. I have compiled in my opinion some of the best (i'm not going to define best) songs/videos found from my research. Some more for the video while others the song, the key here is synergy; where one lacks the other picks up. A formula that goes something like:

This is so over the top it's amazing. It's not objectifying women at all, instead empowering them by showing women in a typically male dominated setting. This one tested well amongst black drum lines, white band nerds, and most all sports fans but really except for the "camel hammock" shot, they don't have a lot going on.

GeoDaSilva - I'll Do You Like A Truck
This song is one of the worst examples of music I have ever heard; I'm not even sure how trucks do it (dump trucks, maybe). It's sad watching such beautiful women half heartedly thrust their way through 3 minutes of bad music, but this is Europe and they will probably do much sadder things before their time.

The F-14 Tomcat Effect Affect

I was trying to think of something bad ass to write about just now and it triggered this F-14 Tomcat type reaction. If you've never experienced this it's sort of like your brain going from a relaxed, "wings out mach .4" state to a, "wings retracted, after-burners, we've got missile lock! oh my god, pull up Mav, mach .8 in a matter of seconds" mode.

This feeling is way more intense than that of brushing your teeth with Super Arctic Blast Toothpaste, or chewing New! 5 degree Gum while bobsledding could ever be. And while these are much cheaper, safer, less time consuming, and life ruining means to the same end; I'd say F-14 Tomcat is more sort of like being strapped to back of a bat-out-of-hell on cocaine trapped in a real tiny bird cage; a real frenzy that only ends when the little sky-rat has beat his wings into shredded pulps and dies of blood loss. Well, either that or like the first time ever going under the shirt, over the bra and some how managing to get nipple with one finger for like two seconds before the garage door starts going up. That shit was crazy.

There are actually probably a few ways to get to the F-14 Tomcat state of mind, but none of them quicker than waking up on the jungle floor naked, your hands bound behind your back with with rope made from your own hair, realizing there's a Howler Monkey eying a tenderloin of Honey Glazed Ham strapped to your abdomen.
Shit, that's like a heart attack in a can my friend.

But, you probably won't ever experience it. That is unless you're ever able to save every sneeze you've ever sneezed and some how bottle that energy (like say in a fire extinguisher) and then huff the entire thing as you blow your load in the face of a on-fire, runaway African Elephant headed directly into an oil refinery. Then, maybe you'll know where I coming from on this one. Maybe.

Hot Pockets have been a staple of my diet for over decade now, but it was not until just recently that I worked up the gall to try the Cheeseburger specimen.
It may have been the thought of a molten hot ketchup/mustard sauce burning the roof of my mouth, the lack of Trans Fat, or simply the utter doubt that the good folks at HTPKT could make a decent cheeseburger flavored stuffed sandwich (They've already proven such inadequacies with Pizza, and Cheese Steak).
But there at my grocer's freezer, I realized I'd become bored with BBQ Beef flavor; Ham & Cheese brought no joy to my life anymore; New! Chicken Enchilada was old news. I reached for the Cheeseburger.
The next day at work my stomach sat uneasy as I stood staring at the rotating loaf in the microwave. The kind of hunger when your stomach is on the brink of rejecting anything that it receives. Blah blah blah...
Long story short I ate them both and they're good. My new favorite Hot Pocket. Seriously you should try them with McDonald's ketchup packets.

What do ex-military turned dismissed police officers turned retired security guards do when idol moments leave them craving excitement, action, authority, and beating people? If you said drive their car into a pedestrian mall full of people give yourself one point. If you said form a group of low budget vigilantes give yourself two points, you win.

You may have in the past, on Denver's Capitol Hill or in other cities, seen a man wearing Combat boots and black fatigue pants, a white sweatshirt and red beret peddling hastily towards you on a Wal-Mart mountain bike. His white knuckles visible through the holes in his fingerless gloves; pepper spray and hand cuffs accessible and ready. Most likely on his way to tackle a man trying to sell a clock radio for two dollars. You may have seen these men, with a complex for thanklessly beating homeless people and petty criminals. Side-kicking drug attics in the face under overpasses and gang tackling graffiti writers . Working hard to stop bullying by strong arming weaker individuals.

Founder Curtis Sliwa works hard to promote intercity youth to join his side, gaining him and all important foot hold in the community by which to infiltrate (I call this the Shredder tactic). Here is a gang of Angels serving justice on a kid for tagging just a few months ago.

I'm not a lawyer but I'd feel much safer if those boys didn't do that so close to the train.
Perhaps the Angels have saved countless lives and are solely responsible for making Brooklyn once again safe to inhabit, but to me they'll always be crazy fuckers with shitty bikes. It's one thing to defend yourself or someone else when you see a wrong being committed, but to get up everyday and dress like an idiot just to go looking for it makes you a weirdo, and possibly a criminal yourself.

What might happen if you married Capoeira and Irish line tap, then danced it to thump thumpin' Siberian beats? I can't say for sure; I am not an Ethno-danceologist, but I think it may look a little some thing like JumpStyle.
This gayest craze sweeping Western Europe at the moment is claiming young males by the townfull. A gate way to heroine and glory holes, JumpStep is the least impressive dance I've seen since the Kid & Play or the Tom & Jerry. It is fair to say I would rather watch Rollerbladers jam skate Venice beach than be subjected to this.*

*not true, I watched hours of this and have yet to watch a single Venice blade jam! haha.

JumpForce (seen above) appear to be the poster boys for JumpStyle at the moment. Notice their 24.5 million views on the video counter in just 2.5 years (that's like 27,000 views a day. Could this be the new porn?) . With their crisp classic style, and the unison of bounding Gazelles in love, they have most definitely shown why they are the best around. (They've also proven that Dutch do in fact shop at Ikea).

Another set you do not want to jump to are the Yin and Yang like click of Jekyll and Hyde. They represent the meeting point of Crazy and Sane, Hot and Cold, Strong and Weak, Mean and Sweet, Laughing and Crying, Blue Green and Green Blue and so on.
Newer on the scene J&H bring a fresh prospective and impressive stop-motion animation to the game. I think of their video Freefall as a better Lego Mission Impossible II, which in turn is far better than actual Mission Impossible II).

And with any new sport there is always a group that takes it beyond it's newly accepted realm and turns it into something extreme. These jumpers aren't going to let a few skate decks or bike pegs deter them from making this acceptable shit to do at skate parks, or anywhere else for that matter.

Growing up in Colorado I remained entirely unaware that beach cops rode full suspension mountain bikes until the mid 90's. A show called Pacific Blue opened my eyes to this, and a couple other things.
It is safe to say I was completely clueless about the gross misconducts and crimes committed on Southern California beaches everyday; and also, about the heroes who valiantly protect our coastal communities from danger.

I took this photo in a men's bathroom this last weekend. I apologize for the less than magnificent quality of the image but the light was low, and I was acting as speedily/discretely as possible to avoid any sort of misunderstanding. I'm not one to take pictures in public bathrooms regularly, but given the recent lack of any imagination, or content I've had to put into the ol' blog I saw this as an opportunity.

Instantly the name Diaper-Depot (Diaper Decks are for savages) caught my eye. Being the keeper of a depot myself I am automatically in tune with anything that shares the name. While mine is a depot of shitty writing this was a depot shitty diapers; equally as bad.
Secondly there's the amazingly well placed, and appropriate penning of Kid Nasty by presumably Kid Nasty himself. It led me to wonder if this moniker was created solely for writing on diaper changing stations? If so that's fine with me as I work primarily on soap dispensers with the name Hans Soclean.
I googled Kid Nasty to see if this was all part of something bigger and I'm happy to report it's not. The only Kid Nasty of note was the Bakersfield, CA hip hop golden child. KN claims to sound like, "what you've been lookin fo", I'd say he sounds like the poor man's Reh Dogg

Finally, the Diaper-Depot logo is inspiring. Its like the company is saying (with visuals) the easiest way to deal with dirty diapers is to gently place child on the Diaper-Depot's convenient and sturdy fold-down table, then with both hands, reach for the child's throat and tightly grasp. The child will try to fend you off but given it's vulnerable position (infants are like turtles) and, over all lack of strength or mobility, the poop stop forever. Thanks Diaper-Depot!

I've been obsessing over recumbent bikes lately. I was on Bike Snob NYC the other day and noticed that all the posts had copious amounts of comments. Besides fill me with shame and a senses of inadiquicy at the short comings of my own blog, it greatly intrigued me. It seems that some folks have even made a contest out of being the first to comment on postings by adding things like "firsties" and "podium" to kick off the discussion. Many people comment everyday, some more than once! Since this blog is utter garbage compared to BSNYC, I'm not even gonna hope for such shannagins to transpire at the end of my penning. Instead, I myself am setting off to become a respected commenter in the world of blogging.
The caliber of commenting on BSNYC is sharp as a tac, and there is no way I'm stepping into that verbal shit-storm. So as an amateur I have chosen a small blog dealing with relatively simple subject matter for practice. The blog has a few regular commenters already and I do anticipate some friction between us as I try and join their ranks. I must also mention this is an Australian based blog so some things may become lost in translation (Bill Murry whisper in my ear!). And, the blog actually has a ranking system for users so it will be easy to know when I have reached the status of Respected Commenter! The Blog is called RAD and I've began with this entry.

If you suffer from chronic boredom at work be sure to check back regularly as I will be commenting on every RAD post until I get my respect.

The art work of Daniel Richter (currently on display at the Denver Art Museum) has in a round about way lead me to discover another now favorite artist, he being George Baselitz. As much a predecessor as a peer to Richter; German Neo-Expressionist painter Baselitz has been churning out stunning pieces like three below for nearly half a century. These being just part of a series entitled "Heroes" finished in the mid 60s. This art coming out of the then divided Berlin depicts Ordinary German people as heroes and rebels in a very grotesque and vulnerable way.

Advertising does work! After much time spent watching Latin American Fútbol on Univision I found myself standing in front of a bag of BIMBO bread at my local super market. I looked to its American counter parts then back to the bag dawning the literally stupid name. With a pinkie raised I plucked it from the shelve silently patting myself on the back for eating foreign.
As fate would have it I went on to find Bar S bologna on sale for a dollar! It is not often one can purchase a pound of meat (let alone three different meats ground and formed into a plastic encased log) for a dollar. Dinner was served; subsequent breakfasts and lunches followed.
It's no wonder our friends to the South have such energy to Fútbol and riot, with a belly full of BIMBO my hunger was beaten like so many pinatas. The imported bleached wheat loaf is much more dense than any I had ever tasted. Now, some would argue this was due impart to its long hot ride in the back of an eighteen-wheeler, but I believe it's damn fine bread. Gracias amigos!

Got two words for you: Feral Children. Not to be confused with Pharrell or Ferrall, and definitely no laughing matter. I have found evidence of the existence feral children through the internet research I have come to excel in at work. I now submit to you, an unbiased group of my peers, proof of the existence of feral and near-feral children living on the internet.

As you can see this little girl though not feral is pretty fuckin punk rock for a six year old. We can definitely assume that she was not raised completely by animals, but it is reasonable to assume she may have a parent or parents addicted to Smack, lives in one of these abandon warehouses, and eats dented cans of sauerkraut from a near buy cannery to subsist. Thus, she receives understandably less nurturing and homo social interaction than normal children which is evident in the way she lashes out against objects she finds to be frightening, or incomprehensible. She has had very little or no schooling at all, but based on her defensive techniques, has in fact been exposed to kung fu. Surprisingly however, this girl has learned how to speak though I suspect she is mocking words she has heard repeatedly more so than engaging in comprehensible linguistics due to the fact she simply repeats four fucking words.

Now, as for the gentlemen in the video; this has raised quite a debate within myself. It is possible that they are merely projected imaginary figures the girl has made in an attempt to define and link herself with the human race, or, they are the remnants of her junky father's new wave band on a severe perma-trip who, in such delusional state, actual believe they are playing to a sold out Madison Square Garden.

Example 2
Let's move further away from humanism and view an example of the step just before feralness. This example I like to call Homo Domesticus. As you will see in the video at this particular state of development the subject has zero speech capability, avoids human contact (except when provoked or enticed by reward), and has evolved watching animals rather than humans and thus imitates them is it's movements and gestures.

We can see the subject has learned simple weaponry which may have been learned, but as history proves can be self-taught.

Example 3
As far as complete feralness of human beings are concerned, no cases have been documented in the last century. There has however been this footage of an Indian boy captured in the early 80s who had apparently been raised by a group of wild B-boys. As you will see his movements are highly unorthodox and the noise he makes are indiscernible to the human ear. Though he seems gentle he in fact has never been touched on the dance floor.

My last vacation

Here's some footage from a trip I took to Bass Land this last summer. As you will see the plane ride down there was pretty fun. The trip, only lasting about four minutes, but Dj Laz got us there a full 3 hours ahead of schedule; even after running into some pretty severe turbulence.The staff was great making me feel right at home during the entire trip. We touched down in the middle of a dance party for a few seconds and then before I knew it we were on our way back. That was pretty much it.

Smug dog owners have been practicing this disposal for decades now, getting high off the fact that they are so responsible they feel no shame grabbing a handful of brown gold and carrying it around for blocks before throwing it in the garbage. Let me ask you this dear dog owner; How responsible is throwing away a sprite bottle full of battery acid, huh? How responsible is letting children play with matches?
It's poop, nature's most potent fertilizer, and here you are preserving it in plastic bags like so many ham sandwich. It's as if we are making a collective effort to prevent the growth of Carbon scrubbing plant life on earth. I would rather have the stank of processed Alpo on my shoe than make another #2 time capsule. This poop bag business is further proof that we don't deserve to live past 2012.
I know that your dog leaving a Hot Carl on a neighbors green grass doesn't really sound like a relationship builder, but if it becomes a big enough problem for him, he'll build a fence. And if you're the super anal type, and can't bring yourself to leave that earth-vitamin laying there, use a glove, a scooper, or even a plastic bag to remove it just please don't seal it up. Throw it in the street, down an alley, or on a roof and let nature take it where it will.

Daniel Richter: A Major Survey

If you don't know (German painter Daniel Richter has an incredible show entitled A Major Survey hanging at the Denver Art Museum) now you know.
Ricther's large canvases explore pop culture, police states, German history, punk rock, and super heros. Many of his works feature crude, brilliantly colored figures, who look as if they were being viewed through thermal binoculars (think Predator when he's tracking Schwarzenegger) set amongst haunting backgrounds. while still other works feature crisp dark outlines liken to that of pop comic artist Roy Lichtenstien. Truly awe inspiring work, this is the most bad ass exhibit to hit the DAM since the opening Radar show.

The exhibit runs until January 11th.

I found this book in a box of my brother's stuff at my parents house and was immediately flipping pages. The book is the 1988 companion to the followup video of 101 Trix; 101 Trix Part 2. Psycho Version and was put out by BMX Plus Magazine.

Many a folk know exactly what this is; "that big yellow thing". To be more specific it is Herbert Bayer's Articulated Wall located in Denver's Design District. Bayer, originally from Austria called Colorado home for a good part of his life making him one of the most internationally know artist Colorado can seriously bro down with. Bayer is most known for his work in the Bauhaus school of art and worked in many medias. The Articulated wall is a replica of the original wall he built for the 1968 Olympic games in Mexico City (only taller). You can see many more examples of Bayer's diverse art and styles on the lower level of Denver Art Museum's Hamilton Building. Go check it out up close.
