"Just as die-hard skateboarders 15 years ago stood on the cusp of providing a new lifestyle, so the fixed-gear bike culture could be the tip of something that nobody can accurately predict but something that is huge." - JOCKO WEYLAND
I came across this great piece "Unstoppable" about fixed gear bikes in NYC by skateboard chronicler Jocko Weyland. It's from April 29th, 2007's New York Times. I know it's a little bit old but it is a great read. Be Sure to check out the interactive feature that accompanies the article it's brilliant. I know I'm gushing, but it's fucking good!!!
