Unstoppable

I came across this great piece "Unstoppable" about fixed gear bikes in NYC by skateboard chronicler Jocko Weyland. It's from April 29th, 2007's New York Times. John Prolly (aka John Watson) is an accomplished rider (bootleg sessions), in the one of the epicenters of culture and has a plethora of issues to tackle (a major one being dubstep music). Prolly provides a link to the pulse of Fixed Gear bikes and the scene on both coasts and across both ponds through his connections from professional riding.
And though many of the events don’t pertain to anyone outside NYC the constant exposure can help us all to dream and strive to make our communities a little more happening, a little more exciting, and a little more better. But I have still have something he doesn't have. Something so next level it hasn't even hit the coasts yet; Shit Graffiti!

Fixed

The culture finally has a bona fide publication! Articles, layout, and advertisers make this rag the real deal, but with a quarterly release date and a cover price of jack squat there is still plenty of room for competition. Give it a read at http://www.fixed-mag.com/wordpress/

Alright. I was trying to keep this a secret till I had the most bad-ass ride in town, but I am bad with secrets and; Oh yeah, I am broke, so it doesn't matter anyway. Gabe (the curator) keeps his blog stocked with frames from Makino/3Rensho, Level, Vivalo, Bridgestone, Stratos, and many others. They are truly works of art in themselves. He also stocks bottom brackets, cranks, chain rings, stems, bars, seats, and posts. Basically everything you need for a complete NJS build!

Shipping is fairly priced and if you put in a big order you can save some money by filling up a frame box. My favorite: the Bridgestone Two-tone up right now (probably not for long). I suggest you add his site to your tool bar and check it regularly.
