The well known movement Critical Mass started in San Francisco over a decade ago and has now grown to include chapters all over the world (hey, just like the Hell's Angels). Denver is no exception and has a chapter that is gearing up to ride this month. Supporters of the group view the ride to be a spectacular show of human powered transportation which has the ability to make people think about the cost and consequences of burning petrol. Ask most riders though and they will tell you it's a good excuse to have a few and clog the streets of downtown on a bike!
The ride takes place the last Friday of every month and is open to riders and bikes of all kinds. Meet at the Seal Fountain of Civic Center Park at 5:30pm and let the mass begin.
